October Entertaining: Wine & Cheese Night Planning

I love to entertain. People twist that frequently asking (or stating) that what I love is cooking. I do not love to cook. In fact, my husband enjoys that part a lot more than I do. But filling a home with people I love and going all out? That I love. Monthly book clubs, weekly bible study pitch ins, monthly couples dinners, hosting our families for absolutely any reason - these are my times to shine. My eyes swelled with tears recently when during bible study my husband stated: my wife is THE BEST host. I don’t know about best, but man does it bring me join. So here’s a little sneak peek at some of what we’ve got going on in October and how we’ll be pulling it off.

Wine & Charcuterie Night

Mid-october we’re hosting another couple for a wine and cheese night we’ve been talking about for weeks but finally found a good date for. I recently convinced this couple to join the Coopers Hawk Wine Club, something I’ve had the BEST time being part of with my friend Deon (our Christmas present to each other last year) because I’ve got to learn about wine, taste new things, and really figure out what I like. Since joining we’ve been talking about having a wine and charcuterie night and we’re finally doing it - and I want a spooky theme.

I found these for inspo on Pinterest:

But I’ve been wanting to purchase and try using butcher paper like this:

So I ordered these skeletons & this paper so that I could cover our dining table and make a tablescape with food and spooky friends. I decided to do meats & cheese from Trader Joes (if you don’t know where to start Pinterest has great ideas for what to get at TJs for a board). Of course the wine will be from Coopers Hawk and during the month of October members had access to ‘magnum’ bottles (aka double sized) so that will likely be the main feature.

There post is to share my inspo so you’ll have to stay tuned to see how it came together but in case you wanted to host a spooky night that’s similar here’s a good place to start!
