Travel Prep: Cabo San Lucas
We are headed to Mexico in 5 days! When we went to Houston back in March for the Rodeo with our amazing friends they mentioned a trip to Cabo in August. We flew home talking about it because it was the week before our one year anniversary so we needed to pick Cabo or an anniversary trip ‘just us’. We picked Cabo with friends. So we’re headed the Breathless Resort in Cabo San Lucas this coming Wednesday for 5 glorious days away with friends, sun fun, pools, and I’m betting some pretty epic food and bevs.
Traveling has been a love of mine since my early 20s. I didn’t grow up in a family that flew often. We went on epic summer roadtrips but when I graduated college my parents still didn’t have passports. I fell in love with travel when I was doing it for work which gave me points to also venture to where I wanted to go. During my time work with Family First and All Pro Dad I would hoard my points and visit one major US city per year - DC, NYC, Salt Lake City, etc. Then after a year or two of domestic travel love I started venturing out of the US on missions trips to Haiti, the DR, Africa, Antigua, etc and the love just kept growing.
When I found Blake I was 35, making my older than your average bride I’m sure and I remember saying to him how excited I was to have a travel partner for life. Already in our just over 2 years together (almost 1 married) we’ve been to TN, TX twice, NC, France, Italy, Germany, and we’ll now add Mexico. I can’t imagine anyone I’d rather see the world with than Blake and what a perfect way to celebrate the end of our first year married and start the second.
This weekend we’ll be packing and it feels funny but since we live in Florida I feel like packing for Mexican is fairly easy. We’re good at beach/boat/pool life. I AM hoping my Kindle will arrive which I ordered a month ago during prime day because we have 8 hours of travel to get out there. I’m working through a prep list like picking up dry cleaning, buying a new neck pillow, and packing yummy snacks to save us on airport fare. Anyone have a good tips for Cabo?
