The Biggs Lately

Happy Fourth of July

It felt like a good time just to give a little update and some highlights but first I wanted to say thank you for the sweet responses to last week’s post, a very honest one written early in our marriage. I will purpose to continue to be open and honest here and I’m grateful for the love and encouragement I always find when I do.

Here’s how the Biggs summer is going. We got to have our nephew, Ashton, with us for a few days in June and we had the best time. I may have a whole new respect for you parents out there who come home after long workdays and still make summer evenings fun and exciting for your little people. We played the game of Life, had a few trips to the pool, and were insanely impressed with how well our nephew can read the bible aloud - he didn’t mess up a single one of those crazy names! His energy definitely outlasted mine. We had such a great time and it definitely made me wish we could get our other 7 nieces and nephews closer so we could have sleepovers more often.

I shared before but we had a great time on my first cruise to the Cococay and back with our friends. What a fun and easy way to travel. 10/10 would do it again.

We recently hosted our first game night in a while, with two couples from Blake’s work and we had the.best.time. I would like to put in writing that the girls team won every.single.game! Let it be documented. We took no prisoners and will continue to dominate in future competitions. But truly we had so much fun and it felt good to get back to playing some of our favorites: pegs and jokers as well as Codenames. If you like to host game nights as much as we do and you haven’t played these, you need to check them out.

Later this summer we will be celebrating our One Year Anniversary with a trip to Cabo San Lucas. We decided as a result to spend the month of July at home and even had a very simple and perfect Fourth of July with some of Blake’s family. But we ARE excited for fall travels which will include cheering on our favorite new Analyst in Chapel Hill, NC, lots of hunting (deer, duck & gators) for Blake, a girls trip to Nashville for Becca, and we have a feeling there maybe be some other fun mixed in.

Thanks for continuing to to cheer us on we we near the end of our 11th month of marriage we continue to be grateful for the best family & friends. I tell Blake often, I’m so grateful for this life we’re living - it’s better than I deserve.
